Summary of this trip: I don't think I've ever been on a trip as odd as this one. I've hardly seen any Westerners (Bali is an exception obviously, but even there it was obvious that it was low season), there are very few signs, so it's a challenge to know where you are going, I've been photographed thousands of times, shaken hands with hundreds, been talking to so many people, in many cases without understanding exactly what they meant, I have been surprised by little kids being pretty fluent in English on the other hand, I've made new friends and reconnected with old.
And I have eaten so much odd food.
All in all a great trip but trust me on this one: Indonesia outside of Bali is NOT for beginners...
And now I need to think about where I go next time I go to Asia! I'll come back to Indonesia but not on the next trip.
And yes, I have plenty more stories to tell.
